The claims associated with our business are managed by Summit Risk Services, Inc.
Summit Risk is contracted by our carrier partner to receive and adjust all claims.

Summit has been specializing in public entity professional liability claims since 1997. Summit, in collaboration with our carrier partners, communicates with our clients concerning their coverage and strategies for mitigating the costs of defending and disposing of claims.

Summit is headed by Rich Pevner.

  • In addition to possessing expertise with Public Entity Professional Lines claims, Rich manages Public Entity multi-line programs which include Automobile and General Liability Claims.
  • He was admitted to the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bar Associations.
  • He was the former Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Philadelphia, where he specialized in representing the municipality as well as police officers and city employees in lawsuits brought in state and federal court. As Assistant City Solicitor he was responsible for managing and litigating auto, casualty and civil rights municipal, liability claims. He also represented police and prison sheriffs accused of Section 1983 actions for false arrest, and/or false imprisonment, and/or assault and battery. He represented employees from various city departments and agencies in addition to being responsible for jury trials, taking and defending depositions, arbitrations, settlement conferences, etc. He also served as in-house defense counsel for Transamerica Insurance Company where he defended clients in automobile bodily injury claims.
  • He speaks nationally at associations and conferences including Public Risk Management Association, Claims & Litigation Management Conference in New York City, and Public Entities and Insurers: Detecting, Deterring and Defeating Fraud. Rich has also spoken before various Public Entity Pooling Groups as well as co-authoring white paper Public Entity Risk Institute.
